Join us for this virtual event focusing on radical inclusion and addressing critical topics such as structural inequity, colonial history, and the ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. This event will build understanding about the impacts and roles of current events in Palestine in and on our American contexts by grounding the conversation in a humanizing and moral construct, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging the basic realities of structural inequity on the ground, and the historical root causes of the conflict.
We hope that participants attending the event will support participants to:
- recognize their roles and responsibilities in fostering constructive dialogues in schools, especially with the rise of hate and discrimination in schools and the broader U.S. context.
- explore pathways for self-learning and staying grounded in discussions surrounding Palestine. Delve into the concept of allyship and how individuals can leverage their identity and positionality to support justice.
- equip themselves with tools and strategies to engage in these conversations in different, sometimes hostile, school contexts, setting conditions
