Teaching Speech and Debate to our teens - why it's important and the key points to guide you - Sheena Harris

Public speaking is known to be the most terrifying of tasks that adults are often faced with. Most would rather die than speak in public - ironic given that a eulogy is often required at the funeral of a loved one. Homeschooling often lacks the opportunity for teens to get together and give a short speech (as would happen in a school classroom), missing vital skills to learn whilst young. Join Sheena to discover the true value of growing a confident teenager who can not only write well, but also think, speak and communicate excellently in a variety of settings. Sheena will guide you in some of the practices and processes that are super fun and easy to do with a group of local homeschool teens. Gather ideas and grow in your own abilities to be able to facilitate a class who prepare speeches and group debates, particularly needed in the current culture, to equip both themselves and their family; but also local friends in these most needed skills.
