Harrington’s latest book of poetry is PRIMITIVE: THE ART AND LIFE OF HORACE H. PIPPIN (BOA Editions). She is also the author of EVEN THE HOLLOW MY BODY MADE IS GONE, THE HANDS OF STRANGERS, and several award-winning children’s books. She teaches creative writing at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Duriel E. Harris is author of three poetry collections, including NO DICTIONARY OF A LIVING TONGUE (Nightboat Books), finalist for the Audre Lorde Award. Harris is an associate professor of English in the graduate creative writing program at Illinois State University and the editor of Obsidian: Literature & Arts in the African Diaspora. She lives in Chicago The first African American writer to be named Kentucky Poet Laureate, Frank X Walker is Professor of English and African American and Africana Studies and Director of the MFA in Creative Writing program at the University of Kentucky. There he founded PLUCK!—THE JOURNAL OF AFFRILACHIAN ARTS & CULTURE. A Cave Canem fellow, his honors also include a Lannan Literary Fellowship for Poetry.
