Black Girls Rise International (BGRI) is a project of the African Women Mobilization Commission(AWMC). An Advocacy component of its mission, BGRI a coming-of-age festival, is included in the AWMC annual N.W.A.L.O.T.A Pilgrimage (Nigeria Welcomes Africans Living Outside the African Continent). N.W.A.L.O.T.A is dedicated to welcoming the Diaspora Africans to Nigeria. BGRI is part of the Festivals celebrated in October during the NWALOTA Pilgrimage. We raise funds through grants and fundraisers. This fundraiser is dedicated to empowering young black girls and providing them with essential personal care and well-being resources. Our primary objective is to raise funds to purchase sanitary napkins and personal hygiene products, ensuring these girls have access to the necessary items for their menstrual health.
During this coming-of-age festival, we provide speakers from the Diaspora to uplift and inform, thus bringing Diaspora women, and girls together in Nigeria. We are committed to offering educational workshops regarding hygiene, health care, and more. We shall have engaging entertainment to create a joyful and uplifting atmosphere for these girls, with a nutritious meal, clean drinking water, and more.
Through this fundraiser, we strive to uplift and empower them, foster self-esteem, and help them thrive. Together, we aim to make a lasting impact on their lives and ensure their bright future.
