The African American Research Collaborative (AARC), the Voter Participation Center, and Fahrenheit Creative Group, LLC (FCG) will host a virtual briefing to unpack how and why Black Americans voted in the 2024 election based on data from AARC’s and BSP Research’s just completed 2024 American Electorate Voter Poll, completed by AARC and BSP Research.
AARC and FCG will be joined by researchers and experts, including the American Civil Liberties Union of Georgia and Planned Parenthood Action Fund, to discuss how issues like inflation, jobs, housing, abortion, immigration, and climate change influenced the vote choices of Black voters in the 2024 election. These findings are informed by critical oversamples for Black voters that paint a more complete and accurate picture of how Black voters of color voted in this election.
Speakers will also share in-depth analysis of these and other questions:
- How did Black voters vote (by age, gender, income) and what were the most potent concerns as they voted? How salient are affordable housing, inflation, and jobs for Black voters?
- Were abortion rights a main motivator for Black voters this cycle?
- How did the crisis in Gaza affect the vote choices of Black people?
- Are young Black voters, especially young Black men, becoming more conservative, or is something else happening?
