LIT Friday with Maura Cheeks

On this episode of LIT Friday, Maura Cheeks joins Jessica Lanay for a conversation about Cheeks' debut novel, ACTS OF FORGIVENESS. In ACTS OF FORGIVENESS an intergenerational family waits with bated breath to see if congress will finally pass The Forgiveness Act, a bill that will provide $175,000.00 to African Americans that can prove that they are related to once enslaved African Americans. As the family grapples with its own intimate struggles, the consequences of reparations forces them to contend with their familial legacy, hopes, and community. LIT Friday is live on the final Friday of each month at 6pm EST via Zoom registration at AWAACC.org, Facebook, and YouTube. For November and December, out of respect for seasonal celebrations, LIT Friday is live on the second Friday of those months.
