The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is clear: carbon dioxide removals (CDR) are imperative to stay within the 1.5°C target. But despite the vast scientific evidence that supports this, CDR stands at the center of a controversial debate: are they an excuse to avoid emission reductions? Are they reliable, cost-effective, and accurate? In this 60-minute panel, CDR experts from Germany will clarify how different CDR methods work together, and how they must go hand-in-hand with emission reductions if industries and other sectors of society are to stay within our 1.5°C-2°C climate targets.
