Abstract:
An opportunity to see what is going on from a North Wales perspective where Welsh Government has invested heavily in provision of the TTN LoRaWAN IoT network. Scott will show you the technical successes and technical challenges of how Conwy County Borough Council have worked with IoT to drive accurate information gathering. Work through a multitude of cases such as flooding, social care, temperature and humidity, footfall counting, CO2 and more!
Scott Andrews
Scott accidentally fell into IT after secondary school and was employed placing PCs on desks back in the mid-90s. After a stint moving the physical servers over to shared storage, implementing virtual platforms and devising a recharge model before cloud was even a marketing concept, innovation is now his thing... and his job title! Over recent years a lot of the innovation has been with IoT sensors and specifically LoRaWAN over TTN. Working with about 1,000 nodes providing all sorts of data. The work involved has resulted Scott in being invited to speak at The Things Conference in Amsterdam about "IoT in your Municipality". Working in both the public and private sector, Scott has many years of experience and presents a unique insight exploring in what IoT can do and deliver.
