Ken Schafer started his professional writing career as a screenwriter, working for companies as diverse as Disney, Paramount and ABC, and on projects ranging from ABC Night at the Movies, a prequel to Sleeping Beauty, to Star Trek: The Next Generation, for which he received recognition from the Writers Guild of America, West's for Outstanding Writing on one of 101 Best Written TV Series. His passion for all kinds of writing, and the enthusiasm of his daughter for all things word-related, inspired him to branch out to children's books─including his forthcoming A... is for Ahhhhhhh! – A Halloween Alphabeastiary, and The Cow who Conquered the Moon─ along with a historical/fantasy novel Greensleeves. His first published Novel, An Otherwise Perfect Plan: A Novel of Mystery, Love, and of Chocolate that Defies Description received Kirkus’s rare GET IT VERDICT along with MUST READ Recommendations from Midwest Book Review, BookSirens and others. That novel would probably never have been finished had not his daughter—who was literally reading it as a nightly serial as it was being written—continually demanded "MORE PAGES." His strong sense of narrative structure has resulted in having been thanked for his constructive criticism in the forward/afterward of several published novels by NYT Best Seller CA Mobley, and the Hugo and Nebula Award-winning Grand Master, Orson Scott Card. He is repped by Anne McDermott at AM Management and can usually be found in San Diego along with his wife, and a Schrödinger's number of cats. Follow him at his website https://www.kenschafer.com/
